Greater Union Review
The Greater Union Organization is Australia’s oldest and largest film exhibitor. It was founded in 1910 and now screens national and international movies in multi-auditorium complexes across Australia. The company has diversified into other entertainment-related activities; they supply audio/visual technology to cinemas, duplicate 35mm and 70mm film stock and manufacture film processors. They also own 50% of Roadshow Distributors who are involved in theatrical distribution, videos, video games, TV sales and CD-ROMs.
Site Useability
On the greater union website customers can buy tickets online and print them out at home or collect them from special ticket collection points to avoid queuing. Customers can choose their exact seats using a cinema map. Candy can be bought in advance and picked up at the same time as the tickets and customers can also buy gift vouchers. The website offers special events such as movie marathons, Bollywood specials and babes-in-arms; special screenings for mothers and babies on Wednesday mornings. There is information on movies that are currently showing or soon to be released and information on cinemas, including gold class cinemas that seat only 30-40 people, allowing for a more intimate experience. Customers can relax in the gold class cinemas with food and drinks and there is a waiter service. The free cinebuzz club offers members instant entry to members-only competitions, invitations to exclusive advance screenings, candy-bar deals and movie deals. On the whole the greater union website is user-friendly and provides relevant information. If you are lucky enough to be able to obtain a greater union promotional code you will make a significant saving.
Accepted Payment Forms
Purchases are made by credit card (Amex, MasterCard, Diners Club and Visa) and there is a $1.00 booking fee.
Good Points
There are few complaints about greaterunion.com. The site is easy to navigate around and it is easy to find information about a cinema and the movies that are showing. Each movie has a brief description and there are guidelines as to the content of the movie and a guide to what the classifications mean. Cinebuzz members can add their comments to the movie description.
Bad Points
Some people have complained that the only way to book tickets is online and of course you do have to have a credit card. The company can be contacted by email but there is no phone number.
Jimmy’s Comments
Pre-booking can be a boon if a movie is especially popular. The Greaterunion cinemas are generally rated highly on comfort, screen size and their audio. If you find a good greater union promo code leave a comment below and share it with everyone.

Booking fee is an absolute joke. Its $3.25 for gold class! For what? Seemingly nothing. What is it costing them? Its securing them sales and reducing ques - and still costing us an unreasonable amount.

I tend to agree Mitch. I guess they think if you have enough money to splash out on gold class they think you can afford the booking fee too.
