Itrek Travel Insurance Review

Itrek, which is an Australian owned and operated online company, is an agent for AIG Insurance Company, the underwriter of the company’s products. AIG Australasia has been providing insurance solutions to Australian businesses for over 20 years. Itrek does not sell insurance products through travel agents.

Good Points

Itrek offers travel insurance options and emergency assistance 24/7, 365 days a year and has four products, which provide cover for trips between 1-18 months. You should be aware that travel insurance policies for the Pacific region all have a 12month limit.

Itrek’s travel insurance options include Bronze budget travel insurance. The Silver and Gold options are similar, but with extra benefits, including $5,000 of additional emergency assistance. The fourth of the travel insurance options is the Platinum policy, which has benefits galore.

Bad Points

Itrek’s Bronze, Silver Gold and Platinum Options exclude coverage when travelling in several countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Cuba. A notice appears below each of the travel insurance summaries, giving information on exactly which countries are excluded.
